WE'VE TESTED A LOT OF FIRE STARTERS: These are the firestarters we like best. Here’s why: They light easily, burn hot and for a long time, they work in every application, and they’re cheap. Which is important, because we use a lot of fire starters! In our Chimney of Insanity, especially, for lighting charcoal, and these work GREAT there! Just tuck one of these Dragon Egg Firestarters in the air intake nozzle, light it, and the heat draws perfectly up under the charcoal. But if you have a BBQ Dragon fan, then, right after lighting the Dragon Egg, just aim the fan in the intake tube, and turn it on – right up to full speed. 3 minutes, no more, and the charcoal is ready for cooking. These firestarters are made out of just 2 all-natural ingredients: wood shavings, and wax. So simple, and nothing really works better. The wax coating on the little strands of wood is the combination that makes it light so fast – it practically bursts in to flame at the touch of a match. Wind blowing? A bit of rain?
